Also called the Raya Islands, these heavenly islands are located about 12 kilometers to the south of Phuket or 30 minutes by speedboat. They are renowned and beloved as some of the most excellent locations for diving and snorkeling. With its crystal clear blue waters, it is the magnet that so many tourists and locals alike cannot just resist. Owing to the steady influx and rise in the number of interested visitors, the area is experiencing a good change so as to accommodate the new visitors. Today, there are some really exotic bungalows and resort activities in the region.
The beauty of the Racha Islands is beyond what words can describe. When you first arrive in the area, you will be amazed to see the never-ending strip of fine, powdery, white sand. This strip then curves into the main bay. The bay is interestingly named Ao Bungalow or Ao Tawan Tok. Everyone loves this place because the water here is just too clear and too perfect. It is not a surprise that it is the desired location for the lovers of snorkeling.
Even though it must be stated that the bay can receive numerous boats during the day, the water remains as clear as the purest crystals. For those who want the best of memories with their loved ones, there is a beautiful resort called The Racha. But that is not even all there is to this exotic location. There is also another massive bay. It is called the Ao Siam and it is the preferred destination for those who cherish long and lonely walks. If you are thinking of the perfect place to meditate while savoring the incredible beauty of nature, then Ao Siam is just the best place for you. You will definitely not regret spending time in these places.
Racha Island is truly a place full of hidden gems. There is also Racha Noi but unlike the other islands, it is not inhabited. Also, it does not have the usual tourism services or resorts for accommodation. However, that does not stop all the action going on at Racha Noi. For example, it is one of the most beloved points chosen by lovers of diving. If you have a passion for diving and you want to have some really amazing memories, then Racha Noi should be on your itinerary.
As stated earlier, Racha Islands are located in the south of Phuket. It is not difficult at all to get there. This is because there are several speedboat cruises and long-tail transfers. These are often starting from points at Rawai or Chalong Pier. From these areas to Racha Island is an amazing trip of less than one hour. It can take more than one hour sometimes though, it all depends on the exact type of vessel used. The trip alone is one of the most enchanting parts of the outing. For snorkelers and divers who have been dreaming of the very best places to fulfill their fantasies, Racha Island is definitely the place to be.
