Set in the northwest of Phuket, Khao Rang or Rang Hill, one of Phuket’s most famous viewpoint was actually known as Khao Lang or “Back Hill” in English, for it was compared as the back yard of Phuket. The viewpoint is easy to access. It is separated in to two parts; one features a 40-year-old restaurant called Tunk-Ka Cafe, where you enjoy your tasty meal whilst overlooking the whole town of Phuket and the see beyond. Highly recommend in the evening for those who loves watching the sunset. The other part of Khao Rang features Phuket’s 100 Years Hall of Memory. The hall was built to commemorate Phraya Ratsadanupradit (Khaw Sim Bee na Ranong), a venerable person who created a number of economic and social advantages to Phuket. From here you can also see Phuket town and Chalong Bay at the horizon. The whole area is also surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens—a superb spot for a picnic if you asked me.
