I haven’t been to Thailand but I loved reading a little about the history and culture there. It’s interesting they have a statue about someone winning a lot of lotteries – that is something I have never heard about before. The photos look beautiful and I really hope to visit someday!
Ah, I haven’t been to this temple in ages! But this reminds me that I should definitely go on back. You took some beautiful photos here, by the way!
I have yet to visit Thailand but it’s high on our bucket list for sure. I’ve been fascinated by the temples there and amazed by the fact that there as many as 29 wats in Phuket! The architecture of Wat Chalong is truly striking and you’ve captured its majesty beautifully in the photographs. Learning about the faith and admiring the intricate design of the temple in such a spiritual setting must be a highlight of a trip to Thailand. Thanks for sharing these details.
I love the Wats of Thailand. In fact one of the my favorites is Wat Arun in Bangkok. But I have never been to Phuket and Wat Chalong looks so picturesque and full of art. I would love to see those paintings that depict the life of Buddha. And having 29 Wats in Phuket means there is tonnes for me to do here.
Great post!! Chalong temple was one of my fav things to do in Phuket, many tourists avoid Phuket these days as there is a stigma for it being too touristy but it still a lot of charms with it and Chalong temple is one of them.

I’ve always avoided Phuket because it is known as such an over touristic place. I personally prefer more authentic and off the beaten track places. This temple sounds beautiful though and it is good to read that it is not just tourists that visit there. The murals of the life of Buddha sound especially interesting.
