Baby Sea Turtle and Fish Release Event Highlights Commitment to Environmental Responsibility
At Glam Habitat Hotel, our commitment goes far beyond luxury accommodations. We take pride in being an active member of our local community and a responsible contributor to environmental sustainability. In line with our values, our team recently participated in a meaningful marine conservation event held at Laem La-i Beach, located in the beautiful Kamala area of Phuket.
The activity, organized by the Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Organization (OrBorTor Kamala), focused on the release of baby sea turtles and native fish species back into their natural marine environment. This symbolic and practical effort was aimed at raising awareness of marine conservation and reinforcing the importance of preserving our oceans for future generations.
Our team was honored to take part in this initiative, which aligns closely with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles. It was a moment of reflection, connection, and shared purpose with the surrounding community.
What made the event even more impactful was the strong support and participation from fellow local businesses in the hospitality sector. We were proud to stand alongside respected names such as Andara Resort Villas, InterContinental Phuket Resort, Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort, and Namaka Resort Kamala, who also joined the initiative. The collaboration demonstrated the unity of the Kamala tourism sector and our shared vision for a greener, more sustainable future.
The morning began with a warm welcome from local authorities, followed by speeches emphasizing the importance of marine biodiversity and the need for sustainable practices in tourism and local development. Volunteers and hotel representatives then made their way to the shoreline to gently release young sea turtles and fish into the sea—each life a small but powerful symbol of restoration and hope.
The Laem La-i area, with its serene shoreline and clear waters, provided the perfect setting for this conservation effort. This beach is not only a natural treasure but also a habitat for many marine species that are under threat from pollution and climate change. Events like this help highlight the urgent need to protect these delicate ecosystems.
At Glam Habitat Hotel, we believe tourism should enrich both people and the planet. We are committed to integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations—from reducing plastic usage and managing energy consumption, to engaging in local conservation projects such as this one.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Organization for organizing such an inspiring and purposeful event. It is through cooperation between government, private businesses, and the local community that real change can take place.
This experience reaffirmed our belief that every small step counts, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to protect the environment and give back to the community that makes Phuket such a unique and beautiful destination.
