Glam Habitat Hotel is proud to announce that we have achieved the prestigious 5-star rating under the STAR (Sustainable Tourism Acceleration Rating) program. This certification aligns closely with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s policies and the United Nations’ Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs), which form part of the broader Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The STAR program is designed to encourage tourism operators to adopt sustainable practices that reduce environmental impact, promote social responsibility, and enhance economic benefits for local communities. To achieve the 5-star rating, operators must meet three core STG criteria: reducing greenhouse gas emissions (STG 13), ensuring safety in tourism (STG 16), and fostering partnerships and inclusive growth (STG 17). In addition, operators must fulfill at least nine other sustainability goals, making a total of 12 or more out of the 17.
At Glam Habitat Hotel, we have embraced these requirements by implementing various eco-friendly initiatives. These include energy-saving measures such as LED lighting and efficient air conditioning systems, waste reduction programs with recycling and composting efforts, and water conservation policies. Our staff undergo regular training to maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, in line with the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification.
