A Meaningful Step Toward Environmentally Conscious Hospitality

On September 18, 2024, Glam Habitat Hotel Kamala Beach proudly took part in the “Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) for Hotels” training hosted by the Faculty of Technology and Environment at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, in collaboration with local partners across the province.

The one-day training focused on climate change, greenhouse gases, and how hotel organizations can measure and manage their carbon footprint effectively. Participants were introduced to both theoretical foundations and hands-on practices through a practical workshop. The course covered various aspects of carbon emissions—from identifying sources to strategies for reduction and reporting.

By joining this program, Glam Habitat Hotel reaffirms its commitment to learning and growing as an environmentally conscious organization. While we are a boutique hotel, we believe that impactful change doesn’t require scale—it requires intention. Every business, no matter the size, has a role to play in protecting our shared environment.

For our team members, this training offered much more than just technical knowledge. It opened new perspectives on how we operate day-to-day—from energy use and resource planning to waste management. It encouraged us to consider the environmental effects of our work and the small adjustments we can make to improve.

Importantly, we did not attend this training because it’s trending or mandatory. We chose to join because we truly care. Our guests come to us for a relaxing experience, but behind the scenes, we aim to ensure that such comfort is provided responsibly—with awareness of how our decisions affect the world around us.

The most valuable lesson we brought back from the session wasn’t just about carbon numbers or emissions—it was about responsibility, balance, and long-term thinking. It was a reminder that excellence in hospitality isn’t just about service quality, but also about the values that support it.

We sincerely thank the organizers and speakers for their effort in creating a useful, informative, and inspiring experience. Glam Habitat Hotel looks forward to applying this knowledge as we continue to improve both our guest experience and our environmental practices.
