About Soi Dog

Beginning

Soi Dog Foundation found in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, aim to help the street dogs and cats who stray around the island. The foundation was created to provide a human and sustainable solution to managing the stray population and to address their medical needs. Every year spays/neuter and vaccinates thousand of street dog and cats in  Thailand. Soi dog is conducting a series of mobile sterilization clinic across Bangkok and home to 640,000 street dogs. The project will eventually comprise ten mobile clinics and will take an estimated seven year to complete.

Our Work

At this time, Soi Dog foundation work with street animals consists of spaying and neutering to prevent unwanted puppies and kittens being born into short lives of suffering. Together with, the rescue, vaccination, medical treatment, sheltering. Finally, adoption of those that cannot be returned to their territory.

Obviously, spay and neuter is the only proven, sustainable and humane method of reducing the stray animal population.  Indeed, Thanks to your support of our work in Phuket, the stray population on the island is now under control. Further more, the global studies have shown that once 80% of the population has been neutered after that, the number of animals living on the streets begins to decline naturally. Therefore, it should be very few strays on the streets and beaches of Phuket by 2025

Moreover, Soi Dog also campaigns for an improvement in animal welfare rights across Asia. Especially, helps animals affected by natural disasters, such as the severe flooding in southern Thailand in 2017. Moreover, prior to that, the Bangkok floods of 2011 and the Asian tsunami of 2004.

Lastly, Soi Dog Foundation is fighting the Asian dog meat trade and thanks to overwhelming support from people like you, the trade has been almost completely wiped out in Thailand. We continue to campaign for an end to the trade in Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea and other Southeast Asian countries where it is prevalent.
