On Monday 12 October 2026, Glam Habitat Hotel Kamala Beach Phuket made a simple but meaningful change behind the scenes: we switched our cleaning and hygiene chemicals across the hotel to ECOLAB. Technicians from the ECOLAB team spent the day with our kitchen, stewarding and housekeeping teams, installing new dispensing systems, fitting hand-soap stations and walking our staff through how everything works.
Why We Made the Switch
Cleaning chemicals are one of those things guests rarely see, yet they touch almost every part of a stay — the plates in our restaurant, the sinks in our bathrooms, the linens and surfaces in every room. Moving to an eco-friendly brand with a single, consistent system lets us keep the same high standard of cleanliness while being more careful about what we use and how much of it. It sits naturally alongside the rest of our sustainability programme, where small operational choices add up over a whole year.
Starting in the Kitchen
The day began in our back-of-house dishwashing area, where the ECOLAB technicians unpacked the new equipment and connected wall-mounted dispensers above the stainless-steel sinks, with product containers neatly fitted underneath. Instead of staff pouring chemicals by hand, the system measures out the right amount each time — more consistent results for our stewarding team, and less product used than is actually needed.
In the kitchen itself, a new ECOLAB hand-soap dispenser now sits above the hand-wash sink, next to a seven-step hand washing poster as a quick reminder for the team before handling food.
Fresh Hand-Soap Stations Around the Hotel
From the kitchen, the team moved on to our restrooms. Each one now has a wall-mounted ECOLAB Clean & Soft antibacterial hand soap dispenser, carefully drilled and fitted into the tiles, with a matching hand washing guide placed beneath it. Because the dispensers are simply refilled, they also help cut down on small single-use soap bottles around the property.
A New Chemical Station for Housekeeping
The final installation was in the housekeeping chemical room, where a new four-product dilution station now mixes each cleaner with water at the correct ratio and fills spray bottles directly. Each product is colour-coded and listed on a wall chart, so the right cleaner always goes to the right job. The ECOLAB technician then took our housekeeping supervisors and room attendants through the station step by step — plenty of questions were asked, and more than a few phones came out to record the demonstration for later.
Clean for Guests, Kinder to Kamala
For guests, the change is almost invisible — and that is the point. Rooms, restaurants and bathrooms stay just as fresh, while behind the scenes our team works with a simpler, safer and more eco-friendly system. Thank you to the ECOLAB team for a smooth installation day, and to our own kitchen, stewarding, technician and housekeeping teams for taking it on so quickly.
Book your stay at Glam Habitat and enjoy a clean, comfortable room looked after with care for both our guests and the island.
