On the evening of March 22, 2025, Glam Habitat Hotel joined thousands of hotels, homes, and landmarks around the world for Earth Hour, the global movement that asks us to switch off non-essential lighting for one hour in a shared show of care for our planet. Starting at 8 PM, our lobby, lounge, reception, poolside, and bar were lit only by candlelight and soft ambient glow, and guests and team members came together to mark the occasion under the hashtag #GlamHabitatEarthHour.
Joining the Global Movement
At the hotel entrance, our team welcomed guests with a warm candlelit display introducing Earth Hour and inviting everyone to take part. It's a simple gesture with a meaningful message: small, shared actions add up, and a boutique hotel on Kamala Beach can stand alongside cities and landmarks everywhere in switching off for an hour.
An Evening Lit Only by Candlelight
Once the lights went down, our lobby and lounge took on a completely different atmosphere. Guests and staff sat together by candlelight, sharing conversation in a space that, just an hour earlier, looked entirely different under its usual lighting. Down by the pool, the same quiet transformation took place, with families and guests enjoying the water and the night air under nothing but candles and the ambient glow of the property.
Everyday Spaces, Reimagined
Some of the most striking moments came from watching our busiest spaces go quiet and soft. Reception, usually bright and bustling, settled into a gentle glow. Our bar, normally lit for evening service, was illuminated by candlelight alone, giving familiar corners of the hotel a completely different character for sixty minutes.
Earth Hour is just one evening, but it reflects a commitment we carry through the rest of the year. You can read more about our ongoing sustainability efforts on our sustainability page, from community partnerships to everyday practices around the hotel.
Thank you to every guest and team member who joined us for Earth Hour 2025 — it's evenings like this that remind us how a little less light can bring people a little closer together. Ready to experience Glam Habitat Hotel for yourself? Book your stay and discover Kamala Beach.
