On Wednesday, 19 August 2026, Glam Habitat Hotel hosted the "Kamala Beach Glass & Waste Cleanup 2026," bringing together teams from The Marin Phuket, Keemala, Sunwing Kamala Beach, and Wyndham Garden Phuket Kamala, alongside Kamala Police Station, for a morning of beach cleanup along Kamala's shoreline.

A Joint Effort Across Kamala's Hotel Community
Organized by Glam Habitat under the Green Tourism program, the event ran from 8:00 to 9:40 am at the beachfront in front of Kamala Police Station. After a short registration and briefing, volunteers from each participating hotel spread out along the beach and the tree-lined shore road to collect litter and separate out glass waste, before regrouping for a closing group photo. It was a simple, well-organized morning built entirely around neighbors pitching in together for their shared stretch of coastline.

109.10 Kilograms of Waste, Together
Working in teams, volunteers filled bag after bag with rubbish washed up along the sand and tucked among the beachfront trees — plastic bottles, food wrappers, old fishing nets and rope, and general litter. Everything collected was weighed on-site before being loaded onto trucks for proper disposal. By the end of the morning, the combined effort had removed 109.10 kilograms of waste from Kamala Beach.
Why This Matters to Us
Kamala Beach is the reason so many of us are here, and keeping it clean isn't something any one hotel can do alone. Mornings like this one are a reminder of how much gets done when neighboring properties and local authorities show up for the same stretch of sand. We're grateful to everyone from The Marin Phuket, Keemala, Sunwing Kamala Beach, Wyndham Garden Phuket Kamala, and Kamala Police Station who joined in, and to our own team for representing Glam Habitat so enthusiastically.
