On 21 August 2026, the housekeeping team at Glam Habitat Hotel Kamala Beach Phuket set aside a full working day for training — moving between a classroom session and hands-on practice inside one of the hotel's own guest suites. The goal was simple: make sure every room our guests walk into meets the same high standard, and that the team delivering it feels confident doing so in English, in an emergency, and in every guest interaction in between.

A Full Day of Learning, On and Off the Clock

The day was split between two settings. In the hotel's fitness studio, temporarily set up with rows of chairs and a large screen, the team worked through a classroom-style session covering vocabulary, guest etiquette, and safety procedures. Then, in one of Glam Habitat's guest suites, the same group practiced the standards they'd just discussed — remaking beds, checking room presentation, and walking through the details a guest notices the moment they open the door.

Perfecting Every Corner of the Room

Good housekeeping is in the details, and the team spent a large part of the day on exactly that: fitting sheets with hospital corners, positioning pillows, and checking that every suite and villa — Glam Habitat has 27 suites and 3 villas in total — is presented the same way, every time. Staff worked in pairs and small groups, with a trainer demonstrating technique before the team took over the bed themselves.

English Vocabulary for a Global Welcome

Since Glam Habitat welcomes guests from all over the world, part of the day focused on practical English vocabulary for the room — from "bed sheet" and "duvet" to "wardrobe" and "hair dryer" — giving the housekeeping team the words they need to communicate clearly and confidently with guests during a stay.

Manners, Mindset, and Guest Care

Beyond technique, the training covered the manners and attitude expected of the housekeeping department — how to greet guests respectfully, handle requests, and represent Glam Habitat's hospitality in every small interaction, not just in how a room looks.

Ready for Anything: First Aid & Incident Reporting

The final part of the day covered first aid basics and the correct steps for reporting an incident in a guest room — what to do first, who to call, and how to keep both guests and colleagues safe. It's the kind of training that hopefully never gets used, but that the team is now better prepared for either way.
