On Wednesday 28 October 2026, the Glam Habitat Hotel Kamala Beach Phuket team spent the day at Baan Holland, a children’s home in Kathu run by the Phuket Child Protection Foundation (มูลนิธิพิทักษ์เด็กภูเก็ต). We came with lunch, boxes of toys and everyday essentials, and a programme of games — and left with a lot of new little friends: 19 children, ten boys and nine girls, together with their six teachers.
Lunch Together and a Little Creativity
The day started the best way any day can — with a shared meal. The children and teachers sat down together at long, low tables on the play mats for lunch provided by the hotel, before the room was turned over to the Glam Creative Corner. Armed with paintbrushes and pots of colour, the children set to work on small plaster figures, each one finished in its own very individual style and kept as a souvenir of the day.

Games, Laughter and a Lot of Running Around
Our team had prepared a set of simple, colourful team games designed to get everyone moving, listening and working together. In the Glam Hoop Relay, children passed a hula hoop down the line without letting go of each other’s hands. The Mini Ball Relay had little runners racing to drop balls into their team bucket, and Glam Musical Chairs turned the classroom into a dance floor, with plenty of giggles every time the music stopped. In between, a big bundle of pool noodles became swords, bracelets and whatever else young imaginations could invent.

Gifts for Every Day
Alongside the activities, Glam Habitat donated 5,000 baht in cash to support the home’s daily running, together with a further 800 baht collected in our donation box. We also brought toys and practical everyday items for the children — from a play kitchen set (assembled on the spot by two very focused team members) to balls, ball-pit balls, baskets, snacks and new pillows for the youngest children.

Giving Back Beyond Kamala
Days like this are a reminder that being a responsible hotel goes beyond what happens inside our own walls. Supporting local children and the people who care for them is part of the wider sustainability and community commitment we work on throughout the year, alongside causes such as our support for the Soi Dog Foundation.
A heartfelt thank you to the teachers and caretakers at Baan Holland for welcoming us so warmly, and to every member of our team who gave their time, energy and patience to make the day special. We hope the children enjoyed it as much as we did — and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.
