On the afternoon of 16 September 2026, half of the Glam Habitat team swapped their usual shifts for two back-to-back training sessions held right in the hotel’s own fitness studio: Equality, Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI), followed by Green Awareness. Housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance and front office colleagues sat side by side for both sessions — the second half of the property’s team will complete the same two trainings in a follow-up round.
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Recognizing Bias, Preventing Harm
The EDI session opened with a look at the kinds of everyday bias that can turn up in a hotel workplace — assumptions based on age, appearance, background or ability — and why recognizing them matters as much for how colleagues treat each other as for how guests are welcomed. From there, the training moved into harassment and bullying prevention: what each looks like in practice, and the hotel’s non-retaliation policy for anyone who raises a concern.
Green Awareness: Understanding Our Carbon Footprint
Straight after, the same group moved into Green Awareness training, built around Glam Habitat’s own sustainability numbers. The session walked through the hotel’s monthly Carbon Footprint Record — tracking electricity, water and emissions year over year — and what the different tiers of Green Tourism certification actually require, with a reminder that hitting them starts with everyday choices on the floor, not just policy on paper. It is the same thinking behind our sustainability programme, brought down to a shift-by-shift level.
Half the Team Down, Half to Go
Both sessions closed the same way: everyone gathered for a group photo before heading back to their shifts. Around two dozen colleagues from across the hotel completed this first round of EDI and Green Awareness training — much like our housekeeping team’s deep dive at Beyond Cleaning 2026, it is one more piece of an ongoing training calendar. The remaining half of the team will go through the same two sessions in the weeks ahead, so that every department ends up working from the same standards on both fronts.
