On the morning of 24 July 2026, a team from Glam Habitat Hotel joined the Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Organization's annual aquatic life release project at Hat Trai Trang beach, carrying bags of young fish down to the water's edge to return them to the sea. Rain moved in not long after the event began, but it didn't change the plan — umbrellas went up, and the release continued.
A Community Tradition Rooted in Conservation
Organized by the Public Health and Environment Division of the Kamala Subdistrict Administrative Organization, the "Return Aquatic Life to the Sea and Freshwater" project is held each year to help maintain the ecological balance of Kamala's coastal waters. Fish fry supplied by Thailand's Department of Fisheries are released back into the sea, restocking local waters and supporting the long-term health of the ecosystem that the whole community, including the hotels along Kamala Beach, depends on.
Glam Habitat received a formal invitation from the Subdistrict Administrative Organization to take part, and a group of our team members happily joined neighbors, local officials, and fellow hospitality staff for the morning.
A Rainy Morning by the Sea
The weather didn't cooperate, but the mood stayed light. Under a grey sky and steady rain, our team waded into the shallows barefoot, held up the Glam Habitat sign for a group photo, and shared umbrellas while waiting their turn at the water's edge. It made for a memorable, slightly soggy morning — the kind that's easy to laugh about afterward.
Releasing Life, One Bag at a Time
Each team member carried a bag of fish fry down to the shoreline, wading into the surf before gently releasing them into the waves. It's a simple act, repeated dozens of times over the course of the morning by everyone who took part, and it's easy to see why the project has become an annual fixture for the Kamala community.

Taking part in projects like this one is a small but meaningful way for our team to give back to the waters we look out on every day, and to stand alongside the local officials and neighbors who work to protect them year-round.
